Clinical Pharmacogenomics Content Specialist

Translational Software is a recognized leader in the field of precision medicine, which provides Software as a Service to unlock the value of genetic testing for clinicians. We are looking for a pharmacogenomics scientist to join our content team and support the development and maintenance of our knowledge base. Candidates must possess strong critical thinking skills and be self-motivated; and have a passion for improving clinical practice.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Decision Support Development

  • Abstract and implement evidence-based guidelines and decision based algorithms into clinical decision support systems.
  • Summarize information for use in reports and summaries for physicians.
  • Collaborate with development to provide data consistency checks and alerts.
  • Collaborate with product marketing to develop supporting material for training and marketing.

Genomic Data Analysis & Interpretation

  • Develop and enhance genomic data curation procedures.
  • Retrieve and incorporate relevant clinical findings into decision support systems to improve risk management for medication selection.
  • Expand and update the knowledgebase using the clinical literature.

Genomic Test Results Review

  • Support customers in genetic panels design and assay selection.
  • Inform and provide guidance to diagnostic laboratories on genotyping methods and other on molecular testing technologies.
  • Review and troubleshoot genetic test results received from diagnostic laboratories.

Other activities

  • Providing clinical expertise to the marketing and sales team to facilitate customer acquisition. Help assess customer technical requirements for project proposals.
  • Provide customer educating and training activities.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy Doctorate (required)
  • Clinical Pharmacogenetics or Clinical Pharmacology Residency or certification (required)
  • Experience in a clinical pharmacy setting.
  • Experience in developing drug information technologies preferred.
  • Proficiency in variant analysis, annotations and DNA sequence analysis.
  • Exposure to molecular diagnostics in a clinical environment.

Customer Support - Diagnostic Laboratory Background

Translational Software is a Software as a Service company that unlocks the value of genetic testing for clinicians. We are a trusted leader in transforming genetic test results into actionable guidance for physicians with over 1.3 million patients served to date. We are looking to find an ambitious Customer Support Associate to replace an employee that is taking on new responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has experience in a molecular diagnostic laboratory environment and is comfortable communicating with laboratory personnel and the scientific development team. Basic understanding of genetic testing and terminology is required. Minimal business travel may be required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing technical support to diagnostic laboratories for Translational Software’s reporting platform
  • Document software functionality for customer and internal use
  • Providing training to customers for data processing and reporting
  • Serving as liaison between the customer support team and scientific team
  • Maintaining procedures and processes for problem determination and resolution
  • Providing excellent customer service through phone, e-mail, chat, etc. in a timely and accurate manner
  • Facilitating the validation process with new laboratories
  • Assisting directly or escalate issues to the appropriate personnel for assistance
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare documentation and reports on routine customer correspondence for future reference purpose
  • Assist in training peers on improving customer support service
  • Develop and maintain in-depth product knowledge
  • Conduct customer surveys about the company’s service to improve customer satisfaction
  • Communicate customer feedback to technical team to develop processes for better serving customers
  • Maintain weekly reports on customer inquiries, responses and feedback to develop customer service analytics and trends
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree would be helpful
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience working a molecular testing laboratory strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of genetic testing processes (PCR or Sequencing) preferred
  • High level of proficiency with basic office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to function in a startup environment with fluid responsibilities
  • Familiarity with the procedures of a genetic testing laboratory strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with CAP or CLIA certification processes desired
  • Experience with trouble ticketing systems will be highly useful
  • Strong customer empathy and ability to see problems through to conclusion
